Pharmaceutical Packaging Companies in France: Buyer’s Guide
Start a French pharmaceutical-packaging shortlist with the package you need, not a generic company ranking. SGD Pharma supplies pharmaceutical glass containers; SFAM focuses on double-tip glass ampoules. Union Plastic and Clayens describe plastic packaging or drug-delivery components. Vedreine Packaging converts printed flexible and lidding material. TriRx provides manufacturing and packaging services at its Segré facility. These businesses answer different buying briefs.
This guide is a role-based shortlist checked against current company pages in September 2026. It is not a quality ranking or an exhaustive directory. A French headquarters also does not prove that every product in a group catalog is manufactured in France. Confirm the legal supplier, proposed item and actual site before qualification.
Glass primary containers
SGD Pharma — pharmaceutical glass bottles and vials
SGD Pharma’s catalog describes molded glass vials and bottles, tubular vials and ampoules. It distinguishes glass types and intended formats; a broad glass portfolio does not make every design suitable for every formulation or filling process. Ask for the selected container drawing, glass specification, finish, compatible closure and the site that would supply it. Evaluate the complete container-closure system for the intended medicine.
SFAM — double-tip ampoules
SFAM describes a France-based operation dedicated to double-tip glass ampoules for pharmaceutical and related uses. This is a specialized format, not a substitute for a standard vial or screw-cap bottle. If the format suits your product, confirm fill and sealing steps, break-open design, user handling, glass and package specifications and whether the chosen line can process the ampoule reliably.
Plastic containers and delivery components
Union Plastic — containers and dosing systems
Union Plastic lists pharmaceutical boxes, dose tubes, dispensers, bottles and oral or ocular dosing components on its human-health site. Buyers should distinguish a container from the accessory that measures or administers a dose. Specify the route of administration, fill, closure or applicator interface, required dose presentation and current product documentation. Ask which reference and production site correspond to the proposal.
Clayens — drug-delivery and syringe-related components
Clayens describes injectable drug-delivery systems, spray components, syringe safety parts, and tubs and nests for syringe packaging. Its own page says related work occurs at sites in France and other countries. It is therefore a potential component-development partner, not a general source of every retail medicine bottle. Provide the device or syringe format, interfaces, use conditions, drawing and expected validation responsibilities, then verify the site assigned to that exact item.
Flexible materials and contract packaging
Vedreine Packaging — lidding and printed flexible substrates
Vedreine describes film, aluminium and paper lidding combinations and printing or coating services from its French operation. The relevant question is whether a proposed material structure, seal and print system fit the intended product and packing line. Share the contacting materials, sterilization or sealing method where relevant, barrier requirement, artwork and format. Do not treat a supplier’s broad statement about sealability as approval for your finished pack.
TriRx Segré — manufacturing, filling and packaging services
TriRx’s Segré page describes integrated pharmaceutical manufacturing, filling, packaging and warehousing, with particular emphasis on animal-health products. This is a contract operation, not a catalog of empty containers to buy. A useful enquiry states the drug and dosage form, production steps, pack format, release responsibilities, destination markets and what materials the customer or CDMO will supply. Confirm the service and product scope of the Segré facility itself.
How to compare French suppliers
First decide whether you need a drug-contact container, a delivery component, flexible or printed packaging, or a company to fill and pack the medicine. Then send each candidate the same relevant brief: dosage form and contents, material, closure, fill conditions, shelf and transport conditions, target market, forecast quantity and required documentation. For machinery or contract services, define the operations and acceptance points instead of requesting a component quote.
Ask where the proposed item will be made, what drawing and samples are available, and what product- and site-specific evidence the supplier can provide. Directory rankings based on size, contacts or broad category matching do not establish performance for your formulation. A short list built around exact fit is more useful than a longer list mixing unrelated supplier roles.
If you are comparing PET or HDPE pharmaceutical bottles and closures across countries, see our bottle supplier checklist. You can also send Zhuojing Package the intended fill, bottle size, closure, quantity and destination market for a product-fit discussion.
