Pharmaceutical Packaging Companies in India: Buyer’s Guide

To compare pharmaceutical packaging companies in India, separate the actual products. Parekhplast lists plastic medicine bottles and closures. SGD Pharma’s Vemula plant makes pharmaceutical glass vials and ampoules. ACG offers blister films and foils. Huhtamaki describes healthcare flexible-packaging solutions, while TCPL Packaging makes folding cartons. These are different categories, not five equivalent bids for one component.

This is a role-based shortlist checked against company sites in September 2026, not a quality ranking or a complete supplier directory. A group’s India office or general packaging catalog does not establish where the particular pharmaceutical material will be made. Ask each supplier to identify the item and production site in its proposal.

Bottles and glass primary containers

Parekhplast — plastic bottles and closures

Parekhplast’s pharmaceutical catalog identifies dry-syrup bottles, tablet containers, dropper bottles, measuring cups and closure options. Its published dry-syrup product page lists HDPE formats and matching cap references. For a medicine-bottle enquiry, send the intended contents, fill volume, closure and liner needs, filling conditions and destination market. Request the exact drawing, resin and sample of the assembled bottle-and-cap system; a catalog use label alone is not a compatibility test.

SGD Pharma India — glass vials and ampoules

SGD Pharma identifies its Vemula plant in Telangana and lists molded and tubular Type I glass vials and ampoules for parenteral applications. This is relevant when the project needs a glass injectable container rather than an oral-solid plastic jar. Specify the formulation, fill and sterilization process, desired vial type, stopper and seal interface, storage conditions and line requirements. Confirm which configuration the Vemula site will supply and obtain current product documents.

Blister films, foils and flexible materials

ACG — pharmaceutical films and foils

ACG’s current packaging-materials range includes forming films and lidding or base foils for pharmaceutical solid-dose packs. Its site also identifies an India-based packaging-materials research facility. Select a material structure using the tablet or capsule, required moisture and oxygen barrier, cavity depth, forming and sealing equipment and distribution climate. Ask for the proposed structure and data for the intended pack; do not assume a general film description establishes shelf life.

Huhtamaki India — flexible healthcare packaging

Huhtamaki’s India pages identify pharmaceutical and medical packaging among the markets served, and its healthcare portfolio describes flexible formats for medicines. That is the relevant evidence for considering it here; the group’s foodservice trays and cups in the previous article were not evidence of drug-packaging fit. Specify whether the need is a blister component, sachet, pouch, label or another flexible format, then confirm the India site, contacting layers, sealing method and documentation for the exact product.

Printed secondary packaging

TCPL Packaging — folding cartons

TCPL lists folding cartons and other printed packaging products. A folding carton is a secondary component, so it should be compared with other carton suppliers rather than with vial or blister-film manufacturers. Give the approved artwork, dieline, board and finish requirements, line-fit dimensions, inspection needs and version-control process. Confirm that the proposed site and specification can meet the actual pharmaceutical project.

How to screen Indian suppliers

For a drug-contact bottle or vial, define the dosage form, formulation, contact material, closure, filling process, shelf and shipping conditions, target market and expected quantity. For a blister, add the forming and sealing line and required barrier performance. For a carton, provide print and artwork controls. Ask for product- and site-specific evidence, samples and an agreed qualification path before treating offers as comparable.

Generic “top company” lists often mix materials, finished components and printed packaging. A supplier’s size, worldwide presence or general sustainability claim does not answer whether its proposed item fits your medicine. The useful question is what the named plant will actually make for your project.
